General: Back After a Hiatus!

For those of you wondering where I had disappeared, I have some great news to share…...



I am a mommy now (yay!) and this break was a maternity break …. My son is now 2 months old and I guess it’s time I got back to work…



Being a First Time Mommy

Becoming a mom has been the most rewarding experience of my life. Seeing my little bundle of joy grow each day, learn new things, make weird sounds, is such an incredible experience. Though I haven’t slept more than 3 hours a day in the last 2 months, haven’t had any me-time and have been gaining weight like crazy, when my little guy flashes that simply-out-of-the-world-toothless smile at me, it makes it all totally worthwhile :-)



Weight Gain and Pregnancy

As you all know, gaining weight during pregnancy is a given and for a lucky few the weight comes off miraculously. If you know me, you would also know that I definitely don’t fall in that category! I have not only gained weight during pregnancy but the streak has continued post-partum!!

For the 1st two months I didn’t think about dieting or exercising as my priority was to make sure my son (who was a small child at birth) got enough nutrition and gained weight. Now that my doc (scared by the rate at which I have been gaining weight!) has given me the go ahead, I am going to start the 3rd weight loss journey of my life. And I sure hope it turns out to be the proverbial "charm"! But, knowing myself, I can’t afford to take anything for granted.

I will be starting a new category "See Me Lose It" where I will track my progress (weight and inches lost) on a weekly basis and also give details of my diet and exercise each week. Of course, I will mention the indulgence-of-the-week as well :-)

If you have been procrastinating all this while, delay no more. Treat me as your online weight-loss buddy and let’s start our weight loss program together. You don’t have to do the exact same things as me. All you have to do is make a commitment to improve your lifestyle and stick to it. The weight will definitely come off. That's awesome!! I became a mom a year back and I totally love it.... it's the most wonderful thing. Enjoy every minute.

I feel your pain about the weight thing.... trust me everyone goes through that phase and it's over before you know it... hang in there
